Our Company

our-company

GMG Group was founded in 1991 by Ettore Guarracino. After learning the art of renovating, remodeling and new construction in both the residential and commercial Boston markets, Ettore’s son Pasquale took over the family business in 1999. He gave the company its current name in 2013, expanding the company’s capabilities by strengthening its core of expert employees and subcontractors.

The new name reflects Prime’s sound commitment to being the number one residential contractor and commercial developer in Massachusetts for customer service, craftsmanship, creative problem-solving and fostering client relationships that are built to last.

Our no-nonsense philosophy

At Prime, our “no-nonsense” philosophy means that every one of our team members and subcontractors operates with the same commitments to excellence:

  • Client and worker safety are paramount (every work area is protected with the highest degree of safety measures)
  • Go the extra mile for every client and each detail
  • Show up on time for every job, every day
  • Keep the work environment clean and classy (there’s never yelling or foul language used on our worksites)
  • Maintain open, honest communication with clients at all times
  • Solve problems with flexibility, patience, intelligence and a collaborative spirit
  • Make every decision with the end result – perfection - in mind

Prime’s residential and commercial capabilities

From residential additions, remodels and new construction to commercial demolition and development, at Prime we pride ourselves on bringing excellent craftsmanship to every detail. With over 30 years of construction experience in the greater Boston area, our clients benefit from our unparalleled knowledge of specialty building materials and local permitting and work ordinances. Our relationships in the industry are with the finest craftsmen, tradesmen and subcontractors in the Commonwealth. From custom stair railings for your home to building a heavily branded chain restaurant franchise, our team has the experience to get the job done right.

Getting started with an initial project evaluation

When we first meet with clients for their complimentary project evaluation, we listen. Understanding the end goals for a space — whether residential or commercial — is a critical first step.

Once we understand the end goal, we evaluate the site, budget and project objectives as a team, doing our best to anticipate any existing or potential problems. In our experience, contractors who do not fully evaluate a site before beginning work are either asking for trouble, don’t have the experience to know better, or simply pad their pricing to account for unknown conditions.

Only after we’ve fully evaluated a site do we present the client with a detailed work scope and project estimate. Estimates include detailed breakdowns of labor and materials costs for each aspect of the project. Along the way we offer up suggestions and value engineering opportunities that a client may take advantage of during the process. Open, honest communication with clients sets us apart from the competition, and our clients have come to love and depend upon it.

Detailed budgeting and project accounting

Our commitment to providing complete, honest estimates and thorough project accounting is proven through our detailed proposals and contracts. At any point in the construction process, clients are welcome to examine their expenses so they know exactly how their money is being spent.

Caring for our clients — our open communication philosophy

We understand that the construction process can be intrusive and even overwhelming for both our residential and commercial clients. Everyday we go out of our way for our clients, giving them the utmost respect. We stay in direct communication at all times, so all parties know what's happening. When clients know what to expect, and we deliver upon that expectation, a project can stay on track. Our team and site leaders are available to answer client questions 24/7.
